CONTROL Resonant Performance Modes — PS5, PS5 Pro, Xbox
Short answer: pick Performance on PS5 / PS5 Pro for 60fps feel. Ray tracing is a PS5 Pro Quality / Balanced feature. Unofficial dossier — targets from Remedy’s PlayStation Blog (Sep 15, 2026); Xbox figures lean on technical press where Remedy has not published an Xbox mode table.
PlayStation 5 (base)
| Mode | Target |
|---|---|
| Performance | 1440p · 60fps |
| Quality | 2160p · 30fps |
Source: Remedy PlayStation Blog — “Control Resonant: PS5 features detailed.” DualSense adaptive triggers and 3D Audio are supported. Tech outlets note ~864p internal → FSR to ~1440p in Performance and ~1260p → ~2160p in Quality; no hardware ray tracing on base PS5.
PlayStation 5 Pro
| Mode | Target | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Performance | 2160p · 60fps | PSSR upscaling |
| Quality | 2160p · 30fps | Ray tracing + PSSR |
| Balanced | 2160p · 40fps | Ray tracing + PSSR; needs 120Hz display |
Remedy: Pro uses PSSR across three modes. Balanced is the mid option if you want ray tracing without locking to 30fps.
Xbox Series X|S
Xbox storefront: Optimized for Xbox Series X|S + Play Anywhere. Remedy has not published a matching Xbox mode blog like the PS5 post. Technical analyses (e.g. Digital Foundry roundups) describe Series X as broadly aligned with base PS5 (Performance ~864p→upscaled / 60fps; Quality higher internal / 30fps), and Series S on a single ~864p / 30fps profile without a 60fps toggle. Treat press measurements as secondary until Remedy posts Xbox targets.
