Story & World
Spoiler-light. High-level premise only — no ending or late-game plot beats.
Premise
After confinement under the Federal Bureau of Control, Dylan Faden steps into a warped Manhattan as paranatural catastrophe spills beyond the Oldest House. Jesse Faden (Director) is missing — she returns in the story but is not playable. Dylan must master new powers, find his sister, and fight to keep his humanity.
Threats
- The Hiss — chaotic corruption returning from the first game’s crisis.
- The Mold — invasive micro-organism threat spilling into the city.
- The Pattern — a new cosmic force framed in press as repetition, mirroring, and recursion — an “otherworldly algorithm” reshaping reality.
Resonants
People with prior paranatural abilities transformed by The Pattern. Themed bosses (e.g. Fire Resonant / heat) often begin in striking “divine” poses before becoming monstrous.
Zones
Self-contained bubbles — closer to CONTROL’s sectors than a classic empty open world.
| Zone | Focus |
|---|---|
| Central | Mostly FBC-held |
| Evacuation | Hiss-heavy |
| West Incursion | Pattern hardest hit — frequent gameplay-trailer setting |
Side content is framed as meaningful World Quests, not grindable Bureau Alerts.
