CONTROL Resonant Mila & The Last Taxi — Find Mila, Cab or Stay, 7 Locations

Quick answer: CONTROL Resonant Mila is the civilian on the Threshold payphone in The Last Taxi. Find 7 honking / flashing cabs (one per zone), answer Mila, clear 3 taxi-selection rounds each visit, then take her final call after cab 7. Cab or stay dialogue lines advance the call — launch guides do not document a branching save/kill ending. Her fate after the last phone is left open. Unofficial dossier.

What to tell Mila — find a cab or stay in one place?

Answer: During Threshold payphone calls, Mila asks for advice or status. Lines players report include variations of “find a cab / get in” vs “stay in one place”, plus status options like “the city’s… fine” vs “there was an evacuation.”

Launch walkthroughs treat these mid-quest dialogue picks as conversation closers — either option typically ends the call and unlocks the taxi puzzle for that visit. There is no verified branching save/kill route tied to telling her cab vs stay. Pick whichever fits the moment; then solve the three cab rounds.

If a guide shows one specific line for a zone (e.g. “Just stay in one place” or “Find a cab and get in”), that is documenting a working pick for that call — not proof the other line fails the Side Story.

Can you save Mila? (CONTROL Resonant Mila ending)

Answer: You help Mila by clearing all seven Last Taxi Thresholds, then answering her final ringing phone. On that last call she says she will take a chance and get into a taxi herself. Her survival is left unresolved on purpose — Zoe may note she could still be alive if she escaped. There is no separate confirmed “save Mila” vs “lose Mila” ending switch beyond completing (or abandoning) the Side Story.

  • To finish her story: 7 zone cabs + final alley phone after cab 7.
  • If the quest stays open: you likely still owe that last payphone — solve cab 7’s rounds, then answer again.
  • “Mia” typos: same character — Mila.

Who is Mila in CONTROL Resonant? (how to find Mila)

How to find Mila: You do not meet her in open Manhattan first. Find a taxi / cab (horn or flashing lights on the minimap) → ride into the Threshold → follow the ringing payphone → answer to talk to Mila.

Answer: Mila is the trapped caller in The Last Taxi Side Story. Each anomalous cab drops Dylan into a foggy Threshold; a payphone rings in a side alley — answer it to talk to her. She needs a working ride out. Your job is to pick the correct taxi for three rounds so she (and Dylan) can leave. She is not a main-campaign cast member like Dylan, Jesse, or Zoe — see cast for those.

Get the caller back to Manhattan

Quest / objective wording often tracks as get the caller back to Manhattan: finish Mila’s three puzzle rounds in the current Threshold. Green light = correct cab; red = retry that round. Round three returns you (and progresses Mila’s escape) to Manhattan. After the seventh cab, answer one final ringing phone to close her story in the Quest Log.

What is The Last Taxi? (CONTROL Resonant taxi / cab quest)

The Last Taxi is a longer exploration Side Story: paranatural New York taxis pull Dylan into liminal Threshold streets. Find every zone’s cab, help Mila each time, then finish the final call after cab seven. Order is flexible; later zones need story / traversal progress (e.g. Shift, Reach, Underpass cable car, Unknown).

How to start the CONTROL Resonant taxi quest

  1. Explore until you hear a horn or see flashing lights — the cab appears on the minimap when you’re close.
  2. Interact with the open door. Dylan enters the Threshold.
  3. Follow the ringing into a side alley and answer the payphone (Mila). Puzzles do not unlock until the call finishes.
  4. On the main street, complete three rounds: enter the correct taxi. Green = correct; red = retry that round.
  5. Clearing round three returns you to Manhattan. That cab counts as done — find another zone’s taxi.

Leaving mid-Threshold (menu / abandon) can reset that visit’s progress — finish the three rounds in one go when you can.

CONTROL Resonant taxi puzzle solutions (spoiler)

CONTROL Resonant taxi puzzle: After Mila’s call, pick the correct cab three times. Rules change by zone (sound, lights, Mold assembly, shadows). Wrong pick = red light / retry that round only. Full spoiler solutions by zone below — skip if you only need all taxi locations.

Tip if choices keep resetting: Watch a full light / flash / streetlight cycle before boarding. Green traffic light = correct; red = same round still active — you did not lose the whole Threshold.

Downtown — ticking noise & signs

CONTROL Resonant ticking noise: Round 1 is the taxi making the indicator ticking noise (turn-signal tick). Listen first, then board.

  • Round 1: taxi making the indicator ticking noise.
  • Round 2: rooftop sign that stays lit when you approach (others turn off).
  • Round 3: rooftop sign that only turns off when you get close.

Central — which lights are on

  • Round 1: only taxi with lights + engine running.
  • Round 2: only taxi with rooftop sign lit.
  • Round 3: rooftop + headlights + rear brake lights all on together.

Evacuation Zone — flash patterns

  • Round 1: flashes off-beat vs the others in unison.
  • Round 2: flashes multiple times in the sequence (others once).
  • Round 3: never flashes — stays dark.

West Incursion — streetlights (flashing wrong choice)

Watch the streetlights above the taxis, not the cars. Pause for two or three full blink cycles before choosing.

  • Round 1: taxi under the only blinking streetlight.
  • Round 2: streetlight that stays constantly on while others blink.
  • Round 3: streetlight out of sync (off-beat) with the blinking set.

The Park — Mold & assembly

  • Round 1: break grey Mold, place hood + trunk.
  • Round 2: avoid explosive Mold; fit two wheels + yellow hood (not the blue spare).
  • Round 3: destroy Mold tethered to the cab so growth stops, then assemble wheel protector, rear bumper, hood, taxi sign — wrong parts sit aside or look wrong.

Underpass — lights vs streetlights

  • Round 1: when streetlights go out, taxi with lights ON.
  • Round 2: when streetlights go out, taxi with lights OFF.
  • Round 3: taxi whose lights are never on at the same time as the streetlights.

Unknown — shadows

  • Round 1: only taxi that casts a taxi-shaped shadow (others cast wrong silhouettes — digger, etc.).
  • Round 2: same rule, more cabs (including across the street).
  • Round 3: all shadows look like taxis, but only one includes the rooftop sign shadow.

Reward — ability, Coffee Cup, trophy?

Answer: Completing The Last Taxi does not grant a new combat ability. Most launch guides (Polygon, GamesRadar+, AllThingsHow) report no pop-up combat reward — the payoff is finishing Mila’s story. Some sources (TheGamer / Gamer Guides) later list a Coffee Cup Artifact in The Gap (slow out-of-combat regen); others do not. Check The Gap craft list after the final call, and do not confuse cafe / hideout appliance puzzles with this quest.

Trophy / achievement angle: The Last Taxi is one of the Side Stories that supports Threshold Researcher alongside Testing Facility / related Threshold work — not a combat-ability unlock.
