CONTROL Resonant Before You Play — Starter Briefing
This CONTROL Resonant before you play briefing is a spoiler-light orientation for launch week — not a full walkthrough or Aberrant tier list. Use it to lock your edition, confirm your platform, and understand why Resonant plays differently from 2019’s shooter fantasy. Deeper build guides can wait until real launch builds exist.
Pick a SKU with which edition, skim platforms, then jump into what to do first once Dylan hits Manhattan. Studio hub: controlgame.com.
Who you play in CONTROL Resonant
You play Dylan Faden, not Jesse. After confinement under the Federal Bureau of Control, Dylan is deployed into a warped Manhattan threatened by the Hiss, the Mold, and a new cosmic force often called The Pattern. Remedy has confirmed Jesse Faden is not playable, though she remains central to the story as missing FBC Director. Preview coverage introduces handler Zoe de Vera as Dylan’s radio support. Story context: Story & World.
CONTROL Resonant combat in one minute
CONTROL Resonant is not a Service Weapon shooter. Combat centers on the shapeshifting melee weapon called the Aberrant. Official PlayStation and Xbox deep dives describe an aggression loop: melee hits restore ability resources, abilities open executions, and executions boost further melee pressure. Preview Primaries include Flurry (fast crit blades), Slash (group scythe), and Slice (single-target axe). Secondaries such as Crush, Drill, and Extend appear in hands-on reports.
Progression previews highlight The Gap — Dylan’s mind-space for abilities, talents, and loadout choices after defeating powerful Resonants. This page will not rank forms or publish a speculative tier list before launch play. Short loop: combat loop. Full pillars: Gameplay.

What this page is not
This is not a copy of fan-wiki guide hubs. You will not find boss walkthroughs, spoiler quest routes, or “best Dylan Faden build” rankings here yet. After early access and digital launch, we may add a short combat-loop briefing grounded in verified play — still dossier voice, still sourced.
