Editorial standards — how we research & correct | CONTROL Resonant

Quick answer: control-resonant.com adds original curation with checked facts, clear structure, and accountable authorship. Sources rank official Remedy and support docs first, then storefronts, attributed press, then corroborated community reports. We refuse piracy pages, invented facts, and unverified leak framing. Corrections go to hereisisrar@gmail.com. See also Sources and About.

Purpose

Last updated framing: keep the published stamp on the live page as the date of record. These standards exist so readers and reviewers can see how the companion adds original curation instead of copying store text. Approved gaming companions that sustain AdSense and Search trust tend to share one trait: they solve a player problem with checked facts, clear structure, and accountable authorship. We aim for that bar—not keyword pages that restate Steam blurbs.

Source hierarchy

  1. Official Remedy articles, Helpshift / support docs, Nasdaq/company PR when editions or dates change
  2. Platform storefronts (Steam, PlayStation Store, Xbox, Epic) for price, DRM, language, and storage claims
  3. Named press outlets for scores and hands-on playtimes (always attributed)
  4. Multiple independent community reports for map-gated side content when no official checklist exists

Primary links are collected on Sources. If a claim cannot be traced, it does not ship. When official docs later contradict an earlier community route, the official source wins and the guide is revised.

How pages are structured

  • Quick answer first — a complete answer in the opening paragraph
  • Scannable sections — H2s that match real search questions
  • Tables where they beat prose — editions, hours, facility lists, unlock dates
  • Failure / edge cases — Assist Mode + trophies, Deluxe early access platform limits, Auction House rotation, ability gates
  • Next steps — links to related guides on this site, not orphan doorways

Original value we add

We do not republish press reviews wholesale. We synthesize buyer and player decisions: edition trade-offs, ability-gated cab order for Last Taxi, facility puzzle differences in Unsupervised Science, story vs platinum time budgets, and PC tier targeting (SSD + storage constants across Remedy’s requirement tiers). Where we rely on community routes, we say so. Original value means organization, failure states, and verified specifics—not synonym-swapped walkthroughs.

What we refuse to publish

  • Copied walkthroughs with synonym swaps and no verification
  • Piracy, cracks, keygens, or “how to bypass DRM” instructions
  • Leak / datamine spoilers presented as confirmed story
  • Invented facts, staff bios, or partnership claims the sources do not support
  • Empty or placeholder pages left in the public index
  • Mass near-duplicate pages that only change a keyword

Those refusals protect readers and keep the companion useful after launch week. An unofficial fan site can still hold a hard line against piracy content and invented authority. Affiliation limits live on the Disclaimer; research process lives here.

Corrections

Email hereisisrar@gmail.com with the page URL, the incorrect line, and a better source if you have one. Material errors are corrected on the live page; we do not silently leave known-wrong launch rumors (for example, deleted Game Pass posts) framed as fact. A correction updates the dossier and, where relevant, bumps a verified or last-reviewed stamp rather than swapping copy without accountability.

How standards relate to Sources and About

About explains that the site is an unofficial companion and what categories it publishes. Sources is the outbound citation index and correction entry point for factual disputes. Editorial standards explain hierarchy, page structure, original value, and refusals. Use About for affiliation context, Sources for primary links, and this page when you need the process rules behind a claim.

Community rooms can prompt a review, but a single unverified tip does not automatically overwrite Remedy or storefront statements. Prefer official pages whenever launch facts, edition SKUs, DRM notes, or promo windows change. Secondary roundups are useful for discovery, not for beating primary dates. That preference is why this standards document leads with Remedy and storefronts before press aggregates and community corroboration.

Accountability without invented authority

A single maintainer runs the project. That fact is part of the standards, not a weakness to hide: readers know who to email, and rights holders know the Site does not pretend to be a staffed Remedy desk. Accountability means correcting material errors on the live page, citing primary sources on Sources, and refusing to dress fan curation as studio documentation.

Invented facts include fabricated patch notes, fake staff quotes, invented Discord invite exclusives, and calculator widgets advertised as live tools when the Site only publishes static guides. Refusing those keeps AdSense and Search trust aligned with the companion’s actual product: checked player-facing dossiers.

Update cadence lives on About: buyer pages re-checked when Remedy or platforms publish material changes; patch-facing pages under Updates; guides reviewed when rewards or gates change. Standards here define how claims are ranked; About defines scope; Sources holds the outbound links.
